The design of the Flora Earrings is an abstraction of the regional flowers of Andalucia. Featuring vitreous enamel double-sided motifs crafted in an open-back bezel, the earrings embody nature's divinity through design.
Technique
Vitreous enamel is a glass-like compound coloured using different minerals and elements: gold is used in pinks. The design has been created using a hand-made stencil and enamelled glass powder and fired multiple times in a kiln at around 800°C. The mosaics are encased in a hand-made sterling silver open back bezel so that a design is visible on both the front of the earring and on the back. The earrings are finished with a hand-made sterling silver earring hook, cleaned free of oxides caused by the soldering process and finally polished.
