Vision

Formed from the vibrant colours and shapes of the flowers seen in the Spring in Andalusia, the Cloisonné Jasmine Earrings embody our vision of summer. Working with cloisonné, an ancient technique for decorating metalwork objects with coloured material, it is the floral motifs that bring the playful sense of summer. Flowers referenced are: flame-vine, bird of paradise and jasmine.

Technique

Cloisonné is a technique that is believed to have originated in Ancient Egypt. The French term refers to a form of artisanal decoration in which fine strips of metal are applied to a metal surface in closed shapes called cloisonnés. Multiple thin layers of enamel are individually applied into the cloisonnés and the piece is fired in the kiln after each application.
