Craft is the essence of Sirocco Studios
, detailed in every layer of our practice. Offering an escape from the fast-paced modern lifestyle, our space is rooted in intention and depth.

The craft of Sirocco Jewellery is defined by vitreous enamel. This ancient technique is slow, requiring patience, attention and skill. Unlike cold enamelling, a technique common among jewellery brands, vitreous enamel demands meticulous control and multiple firings to achieve the desired depth of colour. Used historically in the creation of both fine jewellery and sacred objects, this method speaks to a commitment of refinement and permanence.

Each piece is designed and crafted in-house by enameller Kay Hammond, using heritage techniques such as like plique-à-jour and cloisonné. Each design begins as a sketch and is refined through a process-driven craft of making. Designed for versatility, many pieces are double-sided or reversible.

Sirocco Journal is an a-period publication run independently by artist Luke Newbould which focuses on analogue processes. Platforming essays, conversations and visual stories from international collaborators, the journal provides cultural dialogue and discovery. As an expansion of the journal, The Arcade is a non-linear and decentralised space with the mission to promote meaningful work in the fields of photography, art and craft.
